Marin County launches landlord partnership program

During the first half of 2016, the Marin Rental Property Association and CAA North Coast worked with the Marin Housing Authority and the County Board of Supervisors on policy solutions to preserve affordable housing in the region.

These efforts began in February 2016, when Marin County supervisors abandoned plans for rent control and just-cause eviction, opting instead for MRPA-supported alternatives, including voluntary rent guidelines and a landlord-incentive program.

The Landlord Partnership Program is a partnership effort with Marin County, Marin Housing Authority, Marin Rental Property Association, and the California Apartment Association to expand rental opportunities for families with a housing voucher by making landlord participation in the program more attractive, more feasible and streamlined.
